Mr. Thammarat Prayoonsuk, Senior Executive Vice President of the Refinery and Oil Trading Business Group at Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Chairman of BSGF Co., Ltd., together with Dr. Atchara Nithiaphinyasakul, Director-General of the Department of Health, jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the “No Reuse of Cooking Oil” initiative. The initiative aims to establish quality and safety standards for food operators in the use of cooking oil, prioritizing consumer health and environmental responsibility.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Atthapol Kaewsamrit, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Health; Ms. Suthida Uthaphan, Director of the Bureau of Food and Water Sanitation; Ms. Gloyta Nathalang, Acting Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation; and Mr. Niphon Lerttatsanee, Senior Executive Vice President, Engineering Project Management and Logistics, Refinery and Oil Trading Business Group, Bangchak Corporation.
Also in attendance were partner network executives, including Ms. Maneesuda Sila-on, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at S&P Syndicate Public Company Limited; Mr. Natthaporn Rungkhajonkling, Chief Operating Officer at Nara Thai Cuisine; Mr. Thanaphan Namwiriyachote, Deputy Director of Business Development at CPF Restaurant and Food Chain; Ms. Montra Sutthinaraparn, Marketing Manager of Hong Bao Group & Water Library Group; and Ms. Phakkanan Linchongsupongkot, Managing Director of Thanachoke Vegetable Oil 2012 Co., Ltd. The ceremony was held at the Bangchak Headquarters, M Tower.

The “No Reuse of Cooking Oil” program encourages food business operators to refrain from reusing cooking oil, providing consumers with safer food choices. Participating operators who meet the program’s criteria receive certification and sell their used cooking oil to BSGF Co., Ltd., a Bangchak Group company, where it is utilized as a raw material for the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This effort strengthens the network of safe food providers and enhances consumer confidence in the quality and nutritional safety of the food they consume.

The event also featured a panel discussion titled “No Reuse of Cooking Oil – Toward SAF”, led by Mr. Thammarat Prayoonsuk, Dr. Atchara Nithiaphinyasakul, content creator Mr. Pasut “Khun Chai Moo Krob” Banyam, and environmental and food content creator Ms. Phimlada Chaipreechawit (@PearIsHungry). The session was moderated by Ms. Gloyta Nathalang. The discussion highlighted updates on Thailand’s first carbon-low SAF production project at Bangchak’s Phra Khanong refinery, introduced the “No Reuse of Cooking Oil” program, emphasized the importance of safe frying practices, and included demonstrations of used cooking oil quality assessment.

Partner restaurant brands—including S&P, Madame Maé (Nara Group), Five Star Chicken, Hong Bao, Decha Fried Chicken, and Kluay Kak Rama 5, all present in multiple Bangchak service stations—offered a variety of fried food for attendees to enjoy. These brands serve as key examples of operators committed to not reusing cooking oil and to promoting safer food practices.

The initiative contributes to better public health and strengthens cross-sector engagement in the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, supporting the development of a low-carbon society, climate action, and long-term environmental sustainability.
